Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Trust

For 6 years our small shunting locomotive "Faraday" had languished in the Museum Siding at Wirksworth due to there being insufficient funds and expertise to spare to return it to active use. However, in the Spring of 2016 a new group was formed, the "Faraday Support Group" to take over the ownership of the locomotive and restore it to operation as Wirksworth's yard shunter.

Grant Funded Project:
Shunter "Faraday"
Ruston & Hornsby Class 165 DE number 402803 "Faraday" receiving its first inspection in six years.
The EVR Trust has made a small grant towards this project in the form of money for the repair of the engine in order for the shunter to be restored to operation and be a useful addition to the locomotive fleet of the Railway. Work was due to be completed by the summer of 2023 with Faraday being given a repaint.
