The Trust supports a range of projects. However, the Trust is essentially focussed on the encouragement and support of small worthwhile projects, these may be related to our Railway or they may be part of our local engagement objectives, for example in local tourism or local economic development. This activity follows on from work in which the Railway has long been engaged to support our local communities, an example being assistance with funding towards the Ecclesbourne Way, a long distance footpath along the valley, for the general benefit of visitors to the immediate area.

 

We are supporting a number of upcoming plans, for example with contributions to help the provision  of better facilities at Duffield. These initiatives contribute to the Railway's strengths and to the enhancement of our work. The Railway is popular with visitors and enthusiasts alike, and its long-term preservation and use requires a significant improvement in our equipment and facilities, and in the continuing development of tourism.
